The Best Choice for the Best Service.

A&L Recycling is a Recyclables Handling and Recovery Facility for Non-Petroleum Waste Oil. The Facility has developed a way of collecting and cleaning the oils and grease from the grease traps of food processing facilities and restaurants for recovery. The Facility separates and disposes of wastewater and recovers and recycles the Non-Petroleum Oil and Grease for industrial use.
In pursuit of the recycling goals of the NY City Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP), A&L Recycling has applied for a NY State permit modification (6NYCRR Part 360) from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), in order to increase throughput, storage capacity, hours of operation and conduct equipment modification at the existing facility.
One of the requirements for the NYSDEC Application to be deemed completed is the development of a Public Participation Plan and organization of a Public Meeting for the communities located in the proximity to the A&L Recycling Oil/Grease Recovery Facility.
The Public Participation Plan focuses on public outreach and an Environmental Justice (EJ) Informational Meeting to be held in the Facility’s host community to discuss the project, the State permit application, and the NYSDEC permitting process.
The following materials associated with the proposed modification and Permit application can also be found at the community public repositories at the Queens Community Board 2 Office and at the Queens Public Library, Sunnyside.
